I love me some fashion shows.
Particularly when the ‘models’ are under 10 years old.
And ridiculously adorable.
Like this one.
This session is a perfect example of my work as a ‘lifestyle’ children’s photographer. Rather than unnaturally posing children in a studio completely foreign to them, I love capturing the details and beauty of their unique worlds, loves and lives they genuinely are at this precise time in their lives. This keeps everything completely natural, absolutely immediate, and uniquely personal.
By photographing children in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes and known environments, the authenticity of their personalities shine through and landmarking memories are instantly and beautifully created. And those go straight to the heart.
Who says you can’t shoot gorgeous natural light photographs in the middle of winter? This MOST DELICIOUS little dumpling was photographed when it was less than 30 degrees F (and ridiculously windy) and you would never know it as their stunning apartment had the most fabulous afternoon light!!! Hooray all around!!!
And, um, hello cheeks!!!!! And she SHIMMIES too!!!! I nearly ate her. Oh mah gahds….. LOVED her and am already so looking forward to watching her grow… and of course continue to shimmy 🙂
Proof that a photoshoot can evolve out of ANYTHING.
Yet another reason why I love being a NYC lifestyle photographer … the possibilities are truly endless…
The Amazing Emily, a gorgeous wee Yorkshire Terrier. I received a call from Emily’s owner, saying that her days were numbered and her family realized they had never appropriately documented her in all her splendour.
Granted she may no longer be in her ‘prime,’ but her spirit and charm were immovable and it was crucial she be captured for her family to hold her both in their hearts and minds throughout all the years to come.
I clearly fell head over heels in love with her upon first glance.
Now her family have photos to reflect on her fabulousness forever.
How. Adorable. Is. This. One.
I mean, come ON. Such a delight! We spent most of the time indoors (what gorgeous light!) though we did venture outside to get a sugar cookie. Ah summertime…
And in the meantime, know that I’m as excited as this little guy is to share all the shoots i’ve been up to for the past few months!!!
See you soon! 🙂
