Take. The photos. NOW.
Behold baby me.
The frame and mat have seen better decades. The photos are unevenly displayed, the yellowing has turned into browning, and all of it currently hangs centre stage in my father’s office right this very moment.
My parents knew they had to document my still-quoted ‘who dat?’ face (and i suppose my love for nature or bugs) and I’ll forever be grateful they did.
The above trio first lit up my baby room, moving as we did. It was in every home - displayed near equally poorly framed crayon scribbles, Laura Ashley wallpaper, and god-awful macramé.
Now it’s in my father’s home.
To see these physical prints of me as a baby prioritized and ever-present on my family’s walls today bursts my heart through the stars.
